How we see children
Evergreen Montessori School offers a warm, nurturing environment where children explore, grow, and thrive through hands-on, child-led education grounded in proven Montessori tradition. In the rooms, children choose their work and stay with it. Practical life, sensorial materials, language, math, and culture sit on open shelves at a child's height. Teachers give lessons one to one or in small groups and then step back. A child repeats an activity as long as it holds attention, then returns it and chooses the next. Peaceful, child-centered rooms make that independence possible.

What you notice in practice
Teachers kneel or sit beside a child rather than above them. They observe first. A child who is stuck gets a quiet prompt, not a correction. When the work is working, the teacher stays back and lets it continue. That is what small groups allow: a lesson grows from what the child is already reaching for. Curiosity and confidence follow.
Materials sit on low open shelves, grouped by area and arranged so a child can choose and return them alone. Rooms stay uncluttered because order is part of the work. How we work with families
We partner closely with families. That work runs on open communication and shared purpose, and it starts with a thoughtful, personal admissions process. At pickup, teachers tell you what your child worked on and where things got hard. Questions get answered in person, day to day, by the people who were in the room. You can come to us with anything.
